It just occurred to me, as I was watching "Automan"...what would happen if he gets caught in the rain? It never comes up on any of the 13 episodes of the show (dang), but you gotta wonder. I mean...well, think about how bad it is for, say, Megavolt, who is a physical, biological being who tends to be very highly charged with electricity--he _suffers_ when he shorts out. How much worse would it suck if you were MADE out of electricity?!
Hence, this picture. My two favourite electrical characters caught in the rain, enjoying a temporary truce. (After the rain stops falling, all bets are off, however--after all, Auto is a crimefighter and Megsy is a criminal!) Megavolt is holding poor Cursor, who can't even fly, with parts of himself dissolving away (awwwww...) and notice that part of Auto's body is _fragmenting_ into bits, where the rain is hitting it! I had fun with that effect.
Also, I did his colours dimmer than the really BRIGHT glow they usually are on the show, on purpose--he's weak. (I realise this is not really what his features look like, but this is the "what he looks like _in my style_" version, rather than going for pure accuracy.) Oddly enough, here Auto's eyes are exactly the same freaky "electric" shade of blue that I draw Megavolt's eyes when he's without his goggles...hmmm...
Anyway...yes, everybody, I really am THIS much of a geek. Yep.
I wasn't expecting many people to know who Automan is. He _is_ from an obscure, short-lived show from the early '80s that I just now found, after all.
But if you like Megavolt, o-ho! Go look further back in my gallery! (The earliest pages, mostly.) He's my favourite Darkwing character too and I draw him a _lot_. Including a crossover with Tom Paris's "Captain Proton!" program from Voyager. So, basically Megavolt in that whole Commando-Cody-like style of cheesy old-timey sci-fi.
IN BLACK AND WHITE.
One of my favorite shows from the 80's. (I've downloaded the pilot episode on Google Video.)
I've wondered about that, myself. I noticed that, of all the vehicles that Cursor ever made, there were never any boats of any kind.
Does water effect electro-magnetic energy? That's what he's made of, not just electricity.
There was one episode where the villain was getting away by helicopter, and he was hanging onto the copter's runner, when Automan zapped him with an electrical bolt. The man fell into a pool that was just under him, and electrical energy crackled around him. Yet he seems unharmed. (I'm assuming that Automan has a code against killing. The episode where he was playing the part of "Mad Dog", the renegade cop, he only pretended to shoot a guy. The "bloody wound" was really Cusor, and the man was just knocked out.)
The only weaknesses I've heard of him having is the need for enormous electrical power, and that he could be harmed by electro-magnetic energy beams (like those from a video game "light gun".)
That's a very nice picture, anyway. I have a few Automan things up, myself, mostly paper dolls of him, and my Automan avatar, Autowoman. (His wife/mate/however you want to say it.)

Well...I imagine that he probably wouldn't _like_ getting wet much, put it that way. Maybe not "lethal" (as in, he'd have to...disappear for now to recharge and whatnot) but probably not enjoyable either.
By the way (shameless plug) I also have a more "standard" picture of Automan (and Walter!) a bit further back in my gallery, where he looks a smidge more like himself, what with the hair not being messed up and everything. And also also, I don't know if you remember, but I'm "Pulsewoman" at the Tron Sector messageboard. Hi.
Aww... Poor guys...! Really neat effects with Cursor, Auto, and the rain here ^_^

Thanks! (Also for favouriting my main Automan picture.) He's hard to draw, but a fun character. Us fans of obscure geeky 80s things need to stick together. Heh. I'm a MSTie too, by the way, as I see you are from your signature. Bwahaha.

I've never been very successful drawing him - but you have him spot on! Wonderful pic.
