The Castle on the Hill

Description

My second Sims 2 Castle! (My first castle, I don't have a decent picture of at the moment.) I designed this whole thing, including the landscaping, from scratch--and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, considering I'm normally not very good at that sort of thing. It's way up on a hill with a grand staircase leading to it, has multiple staggered terraces, mini-gardens full of all different colours of flowers, fountains, statues, and marble walkways, lights everywhere (all candles or old-fashioned lanterns, nothing electrical) that make it look just _magical_ at night, and is three stories tall with numerous nooks, decorative balconies, towers and fancy windows of all sorts, topped off with a crenelated stone battlement. Not only that, but it's got a moat and a "dungeon" in the basement. (heh)
I set out to make a traditional story-book castle and, after three gruellingly long play sessions of nothing but building, I succeeded! :)

And it's playable, too--plenty of space to walk around, bathrooms, bedrooms, functioning medieval kitchen, etc. I'd take pictures of the interior, but at the moment, my stupid Sims have been breeding ALL OVER THE PLACE. This has forced me to place random cribs and changing tables anywhere there's enough room--which is amusing, but does kind of break up the original..."flow" I had in mind. The Grand Banquet Hall, for example, now looks like the Grand Day Care. :P

Sorry about the tilty angle, but it was necessary to get the whole castle in-frame at once. To give you an idea of how big this thing IS, I was only able to get it all into the picture _using a camera hack_! Seriously.

Looks very nice! :) Terraced gardens are always great!
