This piece of total silliness started off as a request for Aura Starfire, who wanted somebody to draw her character "using one of her powers". Since one of her powers is electricity and my favourite Darkwing villian is Megavolt, I just couldn't resist. (And her nickname is "Sparky", even...) When I mentioned that I was thinking of doing a crossover picture where Aura would be with at least one other electrical-powered character, she said, "Well, one of her powers _is_ dimension travel, so...the more the merrier!"
She asked for it. And she got...THIS.
From left to right:
--Dr. Electra Ampere Farad and, on her shoulder, Zippy the Wonderpest (who is an animate light-bulb and therefore _also_ powered by electricity). These are two fan-characters from an older series of Darkwing Duck fanfic that I _love_, but the author seems to have fallen off the face of the 'net. Ah, well... Anyway, she is holding a candy-bar because whenever she uses her powers, it makes her get dizzy, so she has to have sugar on-hand to keep from passing out.
--Sailor Jupiter, from "Sailor Moon", of course. She's doing a victory sign because...well, because.
--Electra the Hedgehog, one of my own Sonic universe characters. She goes way back. She is holding a book about ancient cities because she's an amateur archaeologist. I put her and the _other_ Electra next to each other and had them looking at each other on purpose, naturally.
--Aura herself, in the center, because hey, this _was_ drawn as a request...
--Lum from "Urusei Yatsura"--the _original_ deadly lightning-slinging anime babe! I have no idea why she's doing bunny ears/devil horns behind Electra the Hedgehog's head...other than the fact that it was like 4 in the morning by the time I got to that point in the drawing, and I was bored. Heh.
--And finally my own Gigawatt, from the Switchverse. Whoo.
XD Just got your note. Oh my GOD, I can't believe you've read that stuff! *laugh* It's ancient, it's old, it's...other things that I'm not going to mention for the sake of my own ego.
Wow. Seriously, I've got warm fuzzies here. Electra and Zippy look faboo. Thanks a million. *grin*
Yeah...well, glad you liked it! As for the stories, well, they may be old, but I don't think you need to be ashamed of your earlier works as many other fanfic writers do. (Dr.) Electra is _technically_ a Mary Sue, but so well-written that she slips in under the wire with room to spare, and the stories have this...wit, and humour to them. I took a long time getting to them because I took a long time getting into the Darkwing fandom, but they were still up at ToasterOven.com and possibly also the DAFT archive, so that's how I found 'em...
The other thing that really freaked me about the stories is that, just a few days earlier, I had been half-jokingly wondering "What if _I_ wrote one of those Girl Character Gets Mutated and Joins the Fearsome Five stories; what would it turn out like; how would she act, how would she get her powers...?" and I'm not kidding you, a LOT of the stuff in your stories echoed what I had been thinking about in the back of my head. It was freaky. Not saying I'm psychic or anything, but it was a little startling.
Don't feel bad about your old stuff. MY old stuff is beyond lame. My very first stories that I thought good enough to show to anybody were a fantasy trilogy that contained stilted dialogue that'd be kicked out of a B-movie and a part that was _directly_ ripped off from "The Hobbit" (I've since re-written these, of course...) Electra the Hedgehog has powers so weak that Megavolt would fall over laughing at her, but still gets mondo lameness points for being Sonic's sister (not long-lost, though--in my universe they've always known each other) and starting to get into a relationship with Knuckles. (Some writers thought their dating/fighting was cute and wanted me to go on; others viciously attacked the character as being "terribly written". How did I react? I got paralyzed and haven't written about her ever again, at all.)
As for the sister thing, well, I wasn't on the 'net at the time that I wrote that; I didn't even know there WAS a Sonic fan community, let alone how many other people had already written siblings for the main characters. In fact, I thought I was being downright weird and "childish" and was _embarrassed_ with myself for having made up something so weird. NOBODY else would make up characters for _video-game_ worlds...so I thought at the time.
...bwahahah.
Anyway, my point is, old or not, those fics of yours are still fun. And if they're your first ones, well, they're better than _my_ first attempts. Heh.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community.
